First Day of raw eating

So I am really excited about the new year and the raw food lifestyle I have adopted. I began the day with a smoothie made from grapes and strawberries. It was absolutely delicious. For lunch I had three glasses of juice made from three, pomegranates, 3 oranges, 2 lemons and a thick slice of pineapple. So far I am feeling very happy and optimistic. For a snack, I ate a few dates, prunes and nuts (almonds and cashew nuts). I feel nice and full (but not bloated). For dinner I plan on having a green smoothie made from spinach, cucumber, apple, radish, lemon and broccoli. I've had a nasty cold for the past three months and I am hoping that my switching to this diet, my cold vanishes. I read that radish is supposed to be excellent for getting rid of the mucus from the body, so I am hoping it works.

Beauty tip of the day: Since strawberries are in season, simply take one, cut it in half and rub it all over your face. Strawberries have the ingredient alpha-hydroxy acid, which helps get rid of dead cells. After a few minutes wash this off and you'll have softer smoother skin. Another great reason to go raw. You can use everything you eat on your skin, without having to worry about chemicals and toxins.

turning to raw food

So after five years of going on and off the raw food lifestyle, I have finally decided to go one hundred percent raw. I am doing this for several reasons. My biggest reason is that I need to loose weight. In the last year I have put on about 10 kgs and feel very bloated ( I think this maybe due to excessive consumption of sugar in the form of pastries, cakes etc). Also, I am so fed-up this long battle I have with food, and the way it has dominated every aspect of my life.

So from the 1st of December 2013, I am going to go 100% raw and blog about it
